Attention San Diego Padres Softball Day Participants: Here is all the information that you and your teams need to know about our pre-game parade on Saturday, March 30th . Please make sure that this information gets forwarded to all participating teams.

Who Can Participate: Only players and coaches will be able to participate in the parade. Each team will be allowed two coaches. Coaches will be responsible for their team throughout the parade and until their teams are in their seats or paired back up with their parents. Due to the large number of attendees expected, we cannot include parents (other than coaches) in the parade.

Parade Starting Location: All parade participants must have their own ticket & enter at the Home Plate Gate beginning at 3:00pm. If you leave the parade queue area, you must exit via the Home Plate Gate & receive a re-entry stamp. Participants will then be staged outside the Western Metal Building and Padres representatives will be on hand for directions. Participants will stage on 7th Avenue southbound towards Tony Gwynn Drive. Please follow all traffic directions and cross the streets in designated crosswalks – 7th Avenue remains an active thoroughfare for vehicular traffic.

Parade Start Time: 4:35pm - Teams and coaches can enter at the Home Plate Gate beginning at 3:00pm. Participants must be in line no later than 3:55pm to participate in the parade.

Watching the Parade: Friends and family will be able to access the seating bowl starting at 4:00pm. We will allow non-participating guests to enter the seating bowl via the Home Plate Gate upon entry. Participants and coaches will be directed to 7th Avenue. Those looking to take photos are encouraged to watch from Left or Right Field Lower Box for the best viewing point. You will have access to those areas starting at 4:00pm.

What to Wear: All participants (including coaches) should attend the parade dressed in their uniform jerseys and tennis shoes, (no cleats will be allowed). Only uniformed personnel will be allowed to participate in the parade.

League/Team Banners: Team and/or League banners can be presented during the parade. Banners cannot contain any corporate or sponsor logos and must be able to be folded away during the game. Poles to hold up the banner will not be allowed.

Parade Route: The parade will start through the Western Metal Building Breezeway entering the playing field at the Left Field Foul Pole. The parade will make its way around the outfield warning track exiting at the Right Field Foul Pole. Participants must remain on the warning track at all times and will not be allowed onto the grass.

All parade participants will be exiting the field at the Park Boulevard Gate Plaza which offers direct access to:

  • Park at the Park via staircase through Power Alley
  • Main Concourse/Field Level Seating Bowl via stairs/Escalator 1/East Ramp/Elevator 2 for ADA
  • Toyota Terrace Level via Escalator 1 to Escalator 2/East Ramp
  • Upper Level via Escalator 1 to Escalator 2 to Escalator 3/East Ramp

Please Note: To get the large number of participants through the parade route in a timely manner, the Padres ask that coaches always keep their team moving. No pictures will be allowed to be taken from the field during the parade.
