SDYS Community,

As most of you might have already heard, many events are postponing until the fall, some are canceling altogether. For softball, so far all D3 schools have canceled their season and Ivy league schools have done the same. Hopefully with the cancellation of the season the NCAA will extend a year of eligibility to all the players.

We as a league can do the little things to help out:

  • SDYS will make sure there is plenty of soap in the bathrooms to wash hands.
  • We will also have plenty of Clorox wipes to wipe stuff down if needed.

SDYS teams can help out by:

  • Not shaking hands with the other coaches or umpires.
  • Nave the girls not high five, hug, fist-bump after games, just have them cheer and say great game.
  • Limit contact at all possible.
  • If a girls is sick, stay home, - no need to bring the regular cold, flu or whatever aliment they have to the fields and potentially pass it around.

During a time like this let's be aware, limit physical contact with one another and still have fun playing (if the rain holds off). Hopefully this will run its course in a rather swift fashion and no one in our community is affected by it.

Thanks and be safe, be clean and hope the rain stays away, so we can play.
