We will be running the Junior Umpire program for the Fall 2023 season!

Key Details for the 2023 Junior Umpire Program:

• Junior Umpires will officiate SDYS 8U division games
• Junior Umpires must be 13-18 years old 
• Played with SDYS or in local baseball leagues and have advanced knowledge of softball/baseball
• Must attend scheduled Junior Umpire training session(s) prior to the start of the 2023 Spring Season (dates/times TBD)
• Compensation is $25/$20 (plate ump/field ump) per game called
• Flexible availability
• Must be reliable

San Dieguito Youth Softball has a Junior Umpire Program for girls and boys 13-18 years old who want to learn the game from an advanced perspective.  SDYS Jr Umpires are made up of 14U+ division players that have advanced skills in their softball and baseball experiences.

SDYS Jr Umpires are compensated $25.00 per game called.

Being a Jr Umpire is a privilege and is a highly sought after position within our league.  Below are the requirements:

• Girls/Boys must be 13-18 years old when officiating games
• Play or have played with SDYS with advanced skills, or played with local baseball leagues
• Must attend scheduled Jr Umpire training/skills sessions
• Flexible availability
• Must be reliable
